NOLA Navy Week
Commemoration of The War of 1812

New Orleans LA
April 17-23, 2012

New Orleans served as the inaugural city in the three-year national celebration commemorating the War of 1812 and the Star-Spangled Banner. The event featured ships spread across the East Bank of the Mississippi River from Erato Street to Upper Poland Avenue. The U.S. Navy amphibious warship USS WASP, and other large navy vessels, welcomed Class A tall ships from countries around the world. The theme, “Our Flag Was Still There,” marks the festivities in ports across the country: New York City (May 23 - 30), Norfolk (June 1 - 12), Baltimore (June 13 - 19), Boston (June 30 - July 5), and New London (July 6 - 8).
